'Club of the Year' - The results!

Ibstock Bowls Club 'Club of the Year' - shortlist

Ibstock Bowls Club at the 'Lets Get Moving 2024' awards.

The ‘Lets Get Moving 2024’ awards place on Thursday 28th November in a glitzy presentation hosted by Active Together, at Ashby Leisure centre. There were several categories up for grabs, including 'Team of the Year', 'Sportsperson of the Year', 'Lets Get Moving Hero', Disabled Person of the Year', 'Lets Get Moving for Health, 'Active Mums award' and 'Outstanding Contribution', as well as the category that the club had been shortlisted for - 'Group or Club of the Year'.

We had been shortlisted alongside two other great causes, Sands United FC Ashby,  a football club for fathers who have suffered child bereavement and Sharecroft Gymnastics Club, a village gymnastics club that had grown to over 350 members.

The winners were judged as Sands United FC Ashby, a great charity!

Despite not winning an award, the event was enjoyed by five members of the club, probably the closest that any of us will get to a presentation that was somewhat similar to 'Sports Personality of the Year'! The club should be proud to have been nominated, considering all the hard work off the green and its successes on the green, especially considering that all of our achievements are 'self supported'..
